Verifying Chime with a non VOIP number
Chime — like most services worth registering for — checks whether the number you enter belongs to a real mobile carrier. VOIP and internet-telephony numbers are commonly rejected at this step. Every number we issue is a genuine US carrier line, which is why they pass.
How it works
- Choose Chime from the service list and place an order.
- A US number is issued to you immediately.
- Enter it on Chime and request the verification code.
- The code appears on your dashboard as soon as it arrives — no refreshing.
What it costs
A Chime verification costs $0.30, charged when the number is issued. That is cheaper than 1% of the services we carry. If no code arrives before the number expires, you are refunded automatically — you are never charged for a verification that did not happen.
Good to know
The number is rented for the duration of one verification, not sold. If you need a second code for the same account later, reuse is supported on many services. For automated signups, the same Chime flow is available through our API.

- Does Chime accept non VOIP numbers?
- Yes. Chime accepts numbers issued by real mobile carriers, which is exactly what we provide. VOIP numbers are frequently rejected, which is the usual reason a verification fails elsewhere.
- How much does a Chime number cost?
- $0.30 per verification, charged when the number is issued and refunded automatically if no code arrives.
- How long does the Chime code take?
- Normally seconds. The code appears on your dashboard automatically once Chime sends it.
