Chrome extension

Order a number and fill the code in, without leaving the page

Everything the panel does, in your toolbar — on the sign-up form you are already looking at. Free with any SMS Portal account.

The Web Store listing is still in review, so this is the direct download. It is the same extension — it just takes three extra clicks to load, described below.

How it works

  1. 1

    Install and sign in

Add it to Chrome, then press "Log in with SMS Portal". Your account opens in a window the extension cannot read — it never sees your password — and you approve the connection there.

  2. 2

Order from the page you are on

Open the popup on any sign-up form. The service matching that site is offered at the top; every other service is one search away, priced on the button.

  3. 3

    Fill the number in

One click puts the number into the phone field, in whichever format the form wants — with the country code or without.

  4. 4

    Let the code land

Close the popup and carry on. When the message arrives you get a notification, and the code goes into the form — automatically if you switch that on, or with a click if you would rather.

What it does

Every service, searchable

The full catalogue with live prices, including the state filter and priority bidding from the panel.

Row-of-boxes codes

Six-digit forms that split the code across six inputs are filled digit by digit, and forms inside an iframe are found too.

Cancel and reuse

Cancel a number that never received anything and the charge is reversed. Re-reserve one that worked, for a fraction of the original price.

A badge that counts

The toolbar icon shows how many numbers are still waiting, so a forgotten reservation does not expire unnoticed.

What it can see

An extension that can type into a page could read one, so it is worth knowing exactly when this one is allowed to.

Run on the page when you click
Only when you press "Fill code" or "Fill number", and only on that tab, for that one action. Nothing runs in the background on the sites you visit.
Run on pages automatically (optional)
Asked for only if you switch on automatic filling, and refusable — the code then waits in the popup for a click instead.
Notifications
To tell you a code arrived while the popup was closed.
Storage
Holds your API token and which orders are being watched. Nothing is sent anywhere except to this site.

The extension signs in with an ordinary API token, listed on your API access page. Revoking it there disconnects that browser immediately and affects nothing else.

Installing the download

Four steps, about a minute. Chrome asks for Developer mode because the extension is not coming from its store; everything it does is the same either way.

  1. 1. Download the zip and unzip it somewhere you will not delete by accident — Chrome loads the extension from that folder every time it starts.
  2. 2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode, top right.
  3. 3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder — the one with manifest.json in it.
  4. 4. Pin the icon, open it and press Log in with SMS Portal.

One account, both ways in

The extension and the panel share the same balance and the same order history. Start wherever you happen to be.
