If you are looking for an alternative, it is probably for a specific reason: a price on one service, a payment method, a feature, or stock running out when you needed it. Where TextVerified is the better choice
- You want to pay by card. TextVerified takes Visa, Mastercard and Amex. We take crypto deposits only. If crypto is a hurdle for you, that settles it.
- You want a cheap short rental that does not renew. Its non-renewable rentals are a neat product for "I need this number for a week, then never again."
- You already have a working integration. Switching providers costs engineering time. Do it for a clear reason, not for its own sake.
Where SMS Portal may suit you better
- You need a particular carrier or area code. Some platforms treat one network's numbers with more suspicion, or you know which carrier worked for you last time. On our Temp (s2) server you can pick AT&T or T-Mobile and choose from area codes with live stock counts. Each choice can be a preference or a strict requirement, and a failed strict order is not charged.
- You want the exact price before signing up. Every service's price is on our public pricing page without an account.
- You want one number for several services. Temp (s2) can put up to seven services on a single number in one request, all-or-nothing.
- You are building on webhooks. Our webhooks are HMAC-signed with a timestamp to stop replays, and are retried with backoff. See the integration example.
- The service you need is out of stock there. Stock varies by provider and by hour. Having a second provider funded is sensible if verification is part of your workflow.
The only comparison that matters
Both services sell US carrier numbers, so the question is not whose numbers are "real". It is what the specific service you need costs, and whether it is in stock right now. Do this:
- Look up your exact service (WhatsApp, Google, Discord, whatever it is) on both sites.
- Compare the price for that one service, not the "from" price.
- Deposit a small amount and run one order on the cheaper one.
- Keep whichever delivers. Keep the other as a fallback if you depend on it.
Switching an API integration
Both are REST APIs with bearer tokens, so the move is mostly renaming calls. On SMS Portal: order with POST /api/v2/tn101/request-number (service_key), poll GET /api/v2/tn101/get-number-details?order_id=… until pin is set, and cancel with POST /api/v2/tn101/reject-number. Are SMS Portal numbers non-VoIP like TextVerified's?

Can I pay by card on SMS Portal?
No. Deposits are in crypto. If you need card payment, TextVerified accepts it.
